Ingredients (for 1 baking tray or approx. 10 portions)

  • 200 g rolled oats
  • 50 g pumpkin seeds
  • 50 g linseed, crushed
  • 50 g walnuts
  • 50 g cornflakes, unsweetened
  • 1 handful of popcorn
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 100 g honey

Preheat the Merklinger to approx. 200°C.

Roughly chop the walnuts.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Pour the muesli mixture onto a baking tray or into a large baking dish.

Place the tray on the firebricks and roast the granola for approx. 10-15 minutes at approx. 200°C in the Merklinger. Turn over from time to time.

The crunchy muesli is ready as soon as it is lightly browned.
It must not get too dark.

Once removed, leave to cool completely and store in large glass jars with screw lids. Empty pickle jars, jam jars or any other old glass jars can be used for this.

This recipe is perfect for making the most of the heat in the Merklinger. The wood-fired granola is ready in no time at all and enhances any breakfast bowl.

Place 200 g natural yoghurt in a cereal bowl and top with fresh seasonal fruit and approx. 50 g wood-fired granola.
The granola also tastes delicious with milk or quark.
